My name is Rosalie Lario, and I’m a paranormal romance writer. Do I sound a little bit like an addict there? Well, I am one. Nothing beats the high I get from reading and writing books, and for me, books containing paranormal elements top all the rest.
One of the things I enjoy most about writing paranormal romance is the ability to create the world in which my characters live. This is a big deal for me, because I love characters who have a little something ‘extra’. When I first thought up my DEMONS OF INFERNUM series, I knew I wanted to have sexy demon heroes who are stronger, faster, and heal quicker than humans. But I didn’t want to have the usual take on demons: making them creatures from Hell. So I created a reality with multiple dimensions, where demons are a race of beings from a world called Infernum. Portals allow for travel between dimensions, and a lot of nonhumans live here on Earth. But nonhumans can be glamoured to appear otherwise, so most of the people born here on Earth go about their lives in complete ignorance of the various races of beings that inhabit their world.
Once I decided my brand of demons would be from another dimension, I had to go about building that world. I gave Infernum many of the characteristics that are often associated with our modern definition of Hell: it’s a desertlike world that’s always dark and hot, and there isn’t much in the way of technology. People born on Infernum are used to fighting for their lives on an everyday basis, and they’re all dying to escape their world.
Making Infernum such a hellish world had the benefit of giving me some tortured heroes for my DEMONS OF INFERNUM series. I built that up even more by making the heroes half-brother bounty hunters who grew up with a sadistic demon father. Oh yeah, they’ve got some major daddy issues. And when dear old daddy becomes the fugitive most hunted by the Elden Council—the political council governing travel and interaction between the races—the brothers are more than eager to help take him down.
I’d love to know what you enjoy most about paranormal romance. Is it the intricate worldbuilding? The superhot Alpha heroes? The kick-ass heroines? All of the above?

Art gallery owner Brynn Meyers has no idea that her ability to read memories embedded in objects and drain people of their life force means she has demon ancestry. Unfortunately for Brynn, she’s also the key to raising an ancient zombie army, which puts her on every demon’s Most Wanted List.
And no one wants her more than Keegan’s father.
Keegan must protect Brynn from his father by any means necessary, but he’ll have to learn to harness the other half of his genetics—the far deadlier, uncontrollable half—when he starts to fall for the one woman standing between him and the vengeance he so desperately seeks. The one woman he’ll never be able to resist.

What I enjoy most about PNR? Definitely the world building followed by the (often tortured) heros
It’s the perfect way to escape and get lost in a completely different world. Also,I love drooling over a hot supernatural creature. Maybe it’s especially thrilling because it can never happen to you in reality. Sometimes you need a fix and know you’ll get it by picking up a PNR.

I love being able to get away from reality in PNR. They allow me to leave all the stress of the day behind and live in the story and it is so much fun! I love all types of romance but PNR are my favorite since they could never really happen yet the best authors can drag me into the story and make it so believable (while I am reading it anyway)!

A rich, dark, well-developed world makes the genre so appealing!! Paranormal is all about a break from this world. 🙂

All of the above:) I like to escape into a well crafted world and lose myself in the world and the characters. My hero is preferably an Alpha male (sigh). My heroine should never be a doormat and let the big Alpha male walk all over her. Give him hell girl 🙂

A special thanks to Lori for inviting me here today.
-yay-, Maria, Sarah, Aubrie, Irene and Lisa, yes! I love being able to fully immerse myself into an author’s world!
Desi, Victoria, Alycia, and Kara, there’s definitely a lot to be said for a yummy hero. 🙂
Thanks everyone for stopping by.
What I like about paranormal is the way two authors can take the same beings yet build their worlds in totally different ways to make original stories. The world building is definitely an attraction for me.
I love paranormal romance I love the bad boys and alpha males the most! Thank you so much for the great giveaway!
I love that pnr takes me away from reality. I love the strong and sexy men. I just think that it adds a bit of roughness to romance!!
There are so many things that I love about paranormals. I love how the author can let their imaginations run free when creating the worlds and characters, how each series is different, and the large variety. But of course I really LOVE the alpha-men!

What I love most about paranormal romance is the intricate worldbuilding, the superhot looking Alpha heroes. I love the kick-ass heroines. I also enjoy being taken to different worlds with different paranormal creatures. I also like having a tortured soul in the book who thinks they don’t deserve to be happy. Please enter me in contest. I would love to read this book. Tore923@aol.com
Definitely tha hot alpha males, lol. But also it’s so different. You have mythical creatures that you make into anything you want and paranormal romance has lots of action.
Your book sounds great and I loved the excerpt. Thanks for the giveaway!

I’d have to say that it is all of the above for me:) Hot Alphas, kick-ass heroines… set in a supernatural environment… that’s definitely my kind of reading. You can never be board with it and there are no rules because the author gets to make their own. Love reading it!

All of the above, LOL! I love the world-building of PNR, the hot alphas, and the kick-ass heroines! Reading is my escape, so I love to be swept away into a different environment.
Thanks so much for the giveaway!

I thank you for sharing with us today part of your creative process and this awesome giveaway opportunity. I love the world building process of a good book. I want to become part of that world and feel like I know the characters as I would a friend or foe. Hunk, beautiful that is fine and a pleasure to fantasize about, but what I really want are characters I can sink my teeth into and cheer for and have them become my friends that I can revisit either in the next installment of a series or on a reread, because even though my TBR pile is high I still get great pleasure from revising my favorite reads, its like saying hello once a year to a good friend to lives too far away and our lives are so busy we only connect occasionally. I don’t care if the heroes or heroines are beautiful, I want to like them as people – uh er or beings? LOL
For me, it’s prbably the hot alpha male and the kick ass female with a great storyline. i appreciate a great cast of secondary characters and world building too.
I like the sense of loyalty and devotion the alpha males have for their loved ones. I also like the sense of responsiblity they have for their covens or clans, etc.
A hot alpha male, easy on the eyes (in my mind, at least), isn’t too bad either!
Thanks,
