First of all, I’d like to thank Romancing the Darkside for hosting a blog stop for my tour. I love this blog and have followed it from its inception, so it’s truly an honor to have my book featured here. Thank you so much!
Now, in an effort to write my guest post for today, I tried to think of what I could possibly have to say that would be of interest to people. And, well…I came up blank.
I didn’t think anyone would wanted to hear about my “writing process”, because honestly–I don’t have one. I get up every day at 5:15 a.m., wake the kids for school, make the coffee, and sit down at my computer. Then, I proceed to check my emails, Twitter feeds, and respond to any Facebook messages that I’ve received overnight. Once the kids and hubby are out the door at 6:35 a.m., I turn down the lights and start to write. That’s it! Nothing fancy and certainly nothing exciting. So…what the heck am I suppose to write about instead?
Well, thanks to my friend Lori, I have decided write about villains, and why they sometimes steal our hearts.
Personally, I’ve always been drawn to the bad boy type. No, I don’t know why, and please don’t try to analyze me, we don’t have that kind of time. I just know that I like my men: tall, dark and deadly; and more often than not, that describes the literary hero that I’m currently reading about, but in Scent of a White Rose, it describes Terrance…the “bad guy.”
Besides their usual sexy personas, what I’m really drawn to is the individualism that most villains have. I like that they do what they want, when they want, and don’t care about what people think. Secretly, or not so secretly, I think we would all like to have that kind of freedom in our lives at some point. Now, do I condone their bad behavior when it involves hurting people–no. But if the villain has a good reason behind his actions, like love or the need to protect his family, then oh yeah…I’m there.
This is the main reason that I love Terrance! Not only is he dark and dangerous, but as a vampire he’s carried some serious sorrow with him throughout the centuries. Not only does that make me want to hug him and make it all better, but it also helps me to understand him. In his past he was forced to make some hard decisions for the good of his family, and that right there…is why he steals my heart.
There are plenty of other reasons why I think that you guys will love Terrance too, but you’ll have to read the book to find out what they are. *grins*
Okay, now don’t forget to find the smoking roses and follow them to leave a comment for the Treasure Hunt. Tell me how many roses you found today and where you were when you found them. (And p.s., make sure you follow Romancing the Darkside if you haven’t already!)
Thanks for playing,

About the Author:
I’m Tish Thawer and am currently working on The Rose Trilogy, a paranormal romance that features a young woman named Rose, and Christian, the vampire who loves her.
Before becoming a writer I worked as a computer consultant, a photographer, and a graphic designer. I also operate a custom glass etching business, in addition to being a wife and mother of 3 wonderful children.
I’ve been a fan of the paranormal for as long as I can remember. Anything to do with superpowers, myth and magic has always held a special place in my heart. From my first paranormal cartoon, Isis, to the phenomenon that is Twilight, this genre has always been a part of my life. Thanks for joining me on this magical journey.
