The Art of A Love Scene in Paranormal Romance
By Tigris Eden

I think there are varying different “art forms” for a Love Scene in PNR. It really depends on the situation. I like very detailed love scenes. I am going to assume when you say “Love” we are not necessarily talking about bumping uglies. Right?

So I will go with the road of least resistance. Kisses! YAY! The perfect kiss in a love scene can leave the reader all tingly inside. I’ve read a few books where the kiss was the best part of the entire scene! It starts off slow and lazy, or rough and hard. How can you possibly beat that?

Tenderness is another good tool that makes the love scene that much more fulfilling. Describing a character’s emotions can become quite complex. I don’t think I’ve mastered the perfect kiss in a love scene, but I’m getting there.

Strong hands, warm mouths, and sensuous glides of tongues or even clashing of teeth, those are incredible pictures to paint into a love scene. *dreamy sigh* But for werewolves, vampires, and other paranormal creatures, we would need to throw in the occasional, marking, biting, sucking, drinking, tasting…. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH

There are so many different ways to paint a love scene; ultimately it would depend on the person holding the brush. Firm brush strokes or soft strokes either way will get you to the end result.

What would you paint for your love scene?

ENSLAVED IN SHADOWS
SHADOW UNIT ~ BOOK ONE
BY TIGRIS EDEN
A man’s Past leads to his Future……

Agent Stone of the Shadow Unit’s job is simple, most days. Work in the Shadows, police his own Kind.

When an unwanted assignment turns out to be his darkest fantasy from the past, Draven can’t help but be conflicted by the memories of the past and his responsibilities in the future. But his decision has been made.

The Heart of a woman is Tested……..

Jes can’t let the tall dark agent back into her life.
How can she trust any man after what she’s endured. Years of abuse have broken her down and she doesn’t have room for more. The man she turns to for help hasn’t abused her physically but he’s tormented her emotionally. A past betrayal left her scarred, but also brought her life.

Can she accept him into her heart and trust him again?

One will survive and adapt, the other will realize hearts can be mended even if it’s a bit too late.

The road to forgiveness sometimes only brings more pain. Unexpected events set their lives on two separate tracks leading to one outcome. Lives will be changed and an emotional battle to save their souls will leave them both trapped and enslaved in their need for one another.

  1. Congrats on the new release. Thanks for the fun post. I like both, but given a choice, I’ll pick racy and detailed. You know, the more details the better. We should learn something new everyday, so you never know when that’ll happen, maybe reading a book.
This book sounds fantastic. Can’t wait to read it.

  2. Most definitely I love details, details, details when it comes to a love scene. Congrats on the new release, the book sounds awesome and I can’t wait to read it.

  3. I like both really. Sexy and detailed is great is some situations, it really gets my motor running. Discreet is sometimes sexy too,
it helps to set a mood between the characters and the reader. It keeps the reading attention, always waiting for more.
Congrats on your book release Tigris!!

  4. Thanks for a great post and congrats on the new release!

Ya know it depends on the story for me. If the writing is dark and gritty and the characters are pretty well fleshed out then details, details, details! If it’s lighter and the characters more… wholesome… then a sexy fade to black… I’ll take either 🙂
