Celia’s a girl in trouble. Her heart is bound to Aric, but he is a pureblood were who must deny her or risk condemning his species to extinction. And that’s just her love life. She’s also been called to take down a group of demon terrorists looking to overthrow the paranormal world. (No pressure.)
In order to bring them down, Celia must ally herself to Misha, the master vampire who has made no secret of his desire for her. And if that weren’t enough misfortune for one girl, a clairvoyant’s prediction could destroy Celia and Aric’s love for good. The only way to protect the world from unbridled supernatural terrorism is for Celia to bind herself to her destined mate. And that doesn’t appear to be Aric .

Just when you think things can’t get any crazier…it does! Cecy pulled every trick out of her hat in this installment and once again leaves you wanting more!
CURSED BY DESTINY picks up right where A Cursed Embrace left us, with a whole lot of evil on the loose and a heartbroken Celia. She’s currently living with the master vampire Misha and spends her days training and trying to forget about her true love Aric and his upcoming nuptials. With Tribe of demons roaming around every corner search of her, Celia faces her biggest threat yet but as usual she’s not alone. The Weird sisters are right by her side, along with her new family of weres, vamps and some new unlikely alliances. Destiny has tried time and time again to tear Celia from those she loves, but this tigress is not ready to give up the fight just yet!
I was just as heartbroken as Celia at the end of A Cursed Embrace and was really hoping she’d give Misha a chance this time around, but of course I was disappointed. Yeah, my girl only has eyes for Aric, which I totally get but a girl could dream, right?! As much as I hated the circumstances, I do appreciate that Celia didn’t just pull a Bella Swan and locked herself in a room in a state of depression. Her goal to keep her home and sisters safe never wavers and gives her purpose during this trying time. She’s really grown as a character and while she does have a couple of moments of weakness in this book, Celia remains the strong and outspoken heroine I love. We learn more about her abilities and I can’t wait to see what she’s capable of with a little more training.
” I didn’t remember Buffy dealing with this shit.”
The battle for Celia’s heart continues in CURSED BY DESTINY with Aric, Misha and a new were-lion suitor named Tye. I won’t go too much into detail, but I’m happy that among all the flirting and nakedness that ensues, Celia manages to stay true to her heart and defends her love for Aric (I would have probably given in to all that yummy temptation!). I was a little ticked off at Aric for choosing his duties over love but we learn more about him and his sacrifice which made me see him in a different light. I never doubted his love for Celia but his actions did make me question his “alpha-ness” (yeah, I made that up just now). He won me over by the end of this book and I was rooting for their HEA. I also didn’t expect the smexiness between Aric and Celia, usually it’s a fade to black scenario with them, but Ms. Robson gives us a couple of racy scenes I’m thankful for!
“Just know that I hurt along with you, that I suffer without you, and that I’ll love you forever.”
Misha on the other hand I genuinely felt bad for. He’s never made his intentions with Celia a secret, but he sets himself up for heartbreak. The bond between him and Celia is stronger than ever, but there’s only room for one man in her heart. Misha is one of my favorite characters in the series and I truly hope he can remain friends with Celia and find love with a worthy leading lady, he deserves some romance!
The Weird sisters always bring some fun and laughter to the mix and this time is no different. One of my favorite elements of this series is the strong bond they all share and how they’re willing to sacrifice themselves for family. As the oldest, Celia is usually the caretaker and main protector but the girls definitely show her they can hold their own in this book. I’m glad that the author switched things up a little with Emme in this book and that everyone doesn’t have their HEA just yet, it keeps things interesting!
“Die, lady. Grant me a happy birthday and just die already.”
CURSED BY DESTINY is a constant thrill ride filled with plenty of WTF moments, smexiness and snark. The stakes are higher, the story’s darker and with more twists and turns than ever before. The unpredictable plot, evil villains and some new and intriguing characters make this a real page turner. I had a hunch of the surprise revealed by Celia at the end of the book, and it makes me yearn for the next installment ASAP! The Weird Girls have captured my heart, they’ve become a part of my book family and I’ll continue to follow their emotional and always entertaining adventures! If you haven’t read this series yet, go add it to your list, you won’t regret it.

Great review. I have been eagerly awaiting this book. I am a huge fan of the series. Ms. Robson is a master at writing UF. I love the dynamic between the sisters, how each one is so different and strong but their bond and loyalty to each other is unbreakable. As far as the romance I both love it and hate it, lol. I was a huge fan of Aric but he ticked me off so bad. He’d have to do some major groveling for me to like him again. I agree with you on Misha, I love him but not as her mate. He was always the best friend to me.
I can’t wait to read this and the next book to see who her HEA ends up being with. Thanks for the giveaway. 🙂
Stephanie,
I definitely think you’ll change you mind about Aric with this book!
Skimmed because I’m so revved up for this after Bren’s novella. A were-Lion for a suitor sounds interesting but I’m glad Celia didn’t go slutty just to prove a point. And it’s always good that she didn’t go on Twi-mode, thank goddess!
LOL! I’ll be reading Brenn’s novella next, I hate reading them out of order but I think it’s fine since I’ve read the series already. Enjoy!
I love this series! I love how Cecy has created such a vivid, original world 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
I have not read it yet but would like to.
My favorite aspect of the series are the Wird sisters. I love all of their different personalities, and their close relationship. Thanks for the giveaway. 🙂
I love everything about this series, but for me, the humor is such a huge part of it! Some of the other paranormal series manage to have humorous moments, but they never stop in the Weird Girls books…you can go from demon babies trying to rip you apart to Taran and Mrs. Mancuso! (Bren and Mrs. Mancuso is a close second!) The more early reviews I read though, the more I’m dreading reading the book. Why, you may ask? I have a feeling this one is going to KILL me, and I have yet to see when #4 is going to be published!!!!!! 🙂
Thank you, Jennifer. I don’t have a release date for book 4, tent. titled A CURSED BLOODLINE. As soon as I know, I will announce it. I’m glad you’re a fan of my humor. You’ll get a huge dose of it in Bren’s novella, A CURSED MOON.
I love the sisters relationship. They’re lots of fun :).
I love that it is Urban Fantasy, I adore the full and rich world that was created.
I have the first two but haven’t dived in. It seems like everyone enjoys this series so much and it really sounds like it is up my alley. Going to dive in soon!
I have not got to read these yet but they are at the top of my list!!!!
Nice review! I am a hug fan of this series and the world that Cecy has created. I enjoy the action packed adventure we get from the very first page throw the entire story it’s non-stop. The sisters are such amazing strong women and I like the bond they share. I can’t wait to read Cursed By Destiny.
I haven’t started it yet, but it sounds amazing!
Thanks for the chance to win!
I adore this series. Kinda jealous of all the reviews right now, but on the flip side it just makes me want the book even more.
I’m new to the series, but a snarky heroine and sexy alpha men sound great. I’ve heard wonderful things about this series and I’m looking forward to reading it.
I love the hilarity of the sisters interactions with other supernatural creatures. And I laugh every time at their neighbor!
Love how you think you know what is going to happen then you are completely surprised. Also how the female characters are such strong characters. Great role models for younger readers that might not think women can do certain things.
Hi, Lori! Thank you so much for hosting me. Many thanks to everyone who stopped by. As far as the fade to black scenes . . . yeah, I tend to be a little shy sometimes. I’m writing a New Adult now. When my agent read the first draft, she demanded that I “turn the lights on.” Glad this one had enough spice for you, Lori!
Nice review, I really want to read this one, after I read book 2 …
