“Favorite Moments from Once Loved” by Cecy Robson
I really enjoyed Lety and Brodyâs journey in Once Loved. These two seemed so sweet together in Once Perfect, but because of the circumstances surrounding the conclusion of Once Perfect, they didnât manage the happiness they deserved. Below is the beginning of one of my many favorite moments between them.
I stared at my reflection with each careful brushstroke. My waves arced along my breasts and the negligee clung to my curves, the material so translucent and thin my dark areolas protruded through the delicate fabric. There was nothing more I wanted than to be everything for Brody. As I glided the brush one last time, I hoped that at least for tonight, I could be enough.
With a determined sigh, I opened the doors and stepped through. My hair fluttered behind me as I prowled forward. Brody waited by the table, barefoot, in his undershirt and slacks, munching on a strawberry. He froze mid-chew when he saw me, his eyes widening. I laughed a little. A five-course meal for dinner, two helpings of dessert, and my man was still hungry.
I crossed the room slowly, my stare glued to his face while his traveled the length of my body. I stopped, close enough that my breasts grazed his chest. âHi,â I whispered.
He finished swallowing with a great deal of effort. âLety . . .â
I wasnât sure what he was going to say. It was probably something sweet, or endearing, or maybe even sexy. But I couldnât wait and kissed him, leisurely at first until his shock subsided and his body responded to mine.
I love this moment for many reasons. It gives us a glimpse of Letyâs insecurities. Sheâs clearly this stunning young woman, but her past has left her marred, and I doubt sheâs ever truly felt beautiful. I also enjoy Brodyâs reaction. Heâs that sexy athlete every girl had crushed on in college, the one that made you laugh, and made you want to drag into the nearest bedroom. But despite all the confidence Brody rightfully possesses, itâs lost to him then.
I think love, the real kind, encompasses a mixture of emotions including uncertainty and fear. Letyâs biggest struggle in this novel is succumbing to the vulnerability Brody unleashes within her. She doesnât want to hurt anymore. Her violent past has taught her that vulnerability only results in pain, and tears, and scars that never quite heal.
Brody isnât one to give up, and is determined to show Lety that in opening yourself to something genuine and good, that same vulnerability Lety fears could be something beautiful.
Thank you for hosting me, and for being part of my Once Loved blog tour!
Shattered Past # 2
By: Cecy Robson
Releasing Jan 20th, 2015
Loveswept: Flirt
Heâs the campus golden boy. Sheâs picking up the pieces of her broken past. But in Cecy Robsonâs scorching novel of second chancesâperfect for readers of Monica Murphy and J. Lynnâtheir differences only make their connection more explosive.
Every memory Lety Tres Santos has from her childhood comes with a scarâsome emotional, some physical. Her father is an abusive drug addict, and her mother enables his destructive behavior. College offers Lety a fresh start . . . until her father finds a way to ruin that, too. Now, after losing her scholarship to kick off junior year, Lety must somehow stay in school, pay tuition, and turn a deaf ear to the whispers that follow her. And she intends to do it all without Brody Quaidâs help.
Brody is a lacrosse star, a 4.0 studentâand as a freshman, he fell hard for the beautiful and spirited Lety. But their relationship crashed and burned because he couldnât break through the walls sheâs put up around her heart. With Lety hurting more than ever, Brody strives to win her back and make her believe in real love and true partnership. That will mean opening up secrets locked away in his own pastâand trusting someone more than heâs ever dared.
Lety knows how painful it can be to depend on the wrong man. She also knows how much Brody wants to do this the right way. But it takes more than sizzling desire to move on and build a future together.

Thanks for sharing that scene, I skipped this series because NA just isn’t my cup of tea. If it’s angst I crave, there’s always her Weird Girls.
I really need to keep reading her Weird Girls, I am so behind and I loved the one I read. Thanks!
Thank you for hosting today!!
I’m still trying to squeeze in Robson’s Urban Fantasy series, and now here you are adult New Adult titles to my list too. I SO didn’t need that, Lori! Ah well, at least I’ll have my pick of the litter once I do find time for one of her titles.
