Dimitri, also known as the Earl of Corvindale, should be delighted that the headstrong Maia Woodmore is getting married. His mortal ward and houseguest has annoyed—and bewitched—the Dracule nobleman too long, and denying his animal cravings grows more excruciating by the day.
Miss Woodmore's family has a rather complicated history with the immortals and she herself possesses a keen sensibility far beyond mere women's intuition. Marriage will give her safety, respectability and everything else a proper young lady could wish for. Everything, that is, except passion.
In the looming battle between Dracule factions, all pretenses will shatter as Maia and Dimitri come together in an unholy union of danger, desperation and fiercest desire.

Hotter and sexier than the first!
Dimitri, the Earl of Corvindale and vampire was unaware of what he was signing up for when he took on guardianship of the Woodmore sisters as a favor to friend, colleague and vampire hunter, Chas Woodmore. He has dedicated his immortal life to finding a way to break free from Lucifer’s mark and therefore freeing his soul. Both his mission and privacy are put on hold when he finds himself enthralled by a woman for the first time in ages, the eldest Woodmore sister, Maia. Dimitri will fight his attraction to the beautiful and headstrong Maia, but his heart may be too overpowering for him to win this battle.
Dimitri stole the scenes in The Vampire Voss and this book was no different. He can be rude and obnoxious at times but you just can’t help but feel an attraction for this mysterious and tortured vampire. Dimitri tends to be a loner and anti-social in a time where society is everything, but his actions are quite justifiable after reading about his tragic past. His story is both heatbreaking and heartwarming. His interactions with Maia are sometimes comical and always sensual.
Maia Woodmore is a proper heroine with an inner wild side! Her life hasn’t been an easy one, raising her two sisters in her brother’s absence throughout the years, but she’s managed to become ever the prim and proper young lady in Victorian society. See’s first introduced as an overprotecting sister and at times a prude but Dimitri’s constant presence unleashes a passionate and fiery woman. Maia is constantly torn between doing what society dictates or following her intimate desires and giving into temptation, the Earl of Corvindale, even when she learns his secret.
I found Dimitri and Maia’s relationship to be the perfect blend for romance. They start off with a love/hate relationship of bickering with each other one minute and wanting to tear each others clothes off the next! Both characters are very similar in personalities and find refuge in each other. Their scenes are sensual and kept me turning the scorching pages!
In my opinion, Dimitri’s book surpasses the first in the series but it might just be because I was drawn to these characters more. Although I wasn’t too fond of the first book’s rehashment for the first half of the book, even if it was from a different perspective but I enjoyed the inside look into Dimitri and Maia’s developing relationship. THE VAMPIRE DIMITRI is full of action, romance and redemption and is sure to satisfy the appetite of paranormal and historical romance lovers alike! Colleen Gleason is a master in writing historical paranormal romance!
