The horror of the night he failed to save his werewolf pack from the cruelty of their vampire masters has haunted Nicolae for one hundred years, driving him deep into the Canadian wilderness in search of peace. That peace is threatened when unfamiliar hunters and the scent of blood lead him to a beautiful woman and a hard decision—face his past and help her or risk losing everyone he cares about again.

Bearing a heart filled with grief and with vengeance on her mind, Tatyana is intent on killing the hunters she’s tracking and returning to her vampire bloodline, but her plan didn’t include being shot with poisoned arrows or rescued by a glowering alpha werewolf who stirs forbidden hunger in her.

When the hunters make their move, will Nicolae be able to stop them before it’s too late? Will he be able to overcome the darkness in his heart and embrace his desire for a vampire? And can Tatyana face her fears and risk her life for the sake of forbidden love?

HowlingGood My love for werewolves has been rekindled!

Nicolae is a centuries old werewolf who has never forgiven himself for becoming enslaved by vampires and the horrors they inflicted on his pack. Now a loner, he seeks refuge in the Canadian mountains and occasionally hunts at night with the local timber wolves who have embraced him.  It’s on one of these night hunts where he finds what he thinks is a beautiful injured woman. When Nicolae decides to bring the beautiful stranger back to his cabin he finds that this is no ordinary injured human but a vampire.

Tatyana is hell bent on tracking down the hunters and who are responsible for her sire’s death. Her plan of seeking vengeance is hindered when she’s shot with poisoned arrows and practically left for dead in the forest. Meeting a handsome werewolf who would nurse her back to health was not on the agenda but with Nicolae, Tatyana feels a strong connection that she herself cannot comprehend.

Unions between vampires and werewolves are extremely rare and those who surrender to forbidden love are hunted and punished by the Law Makers. Despite their differences, Nicolae and Tatyana team up to uncover the truth behind the mysterious appearance and threat of the hunters in Canada.  The closer they get to finding the enemy…the easier it becomes to give into their desires and surrender their hearts.

I fell in love with Nicolae from the first page. I don’t know what drew me in more, the fact that he’s a true tortured hero or his sex appeal. Every chapter reveals a new layer of him and you can’t help but fall for his charm and gentlemanly ways, he’s hot even when he tries to be rude! Although he’s “damaged” by his past and prefers to be alone there’s a caring and nurturing side to him which are truly genuine.

Tatyana is a likeable heroine who is somewhat tortured herself and is constantly trying to prove herself to her bloodline. Don’t be fooled, she’s no innocent damsel in distress, but has a vulnerability in matters of the heart that I find enchanting. That vulnerability mixed with her fighting skills make her an intriguing character.

HUNTER’S MOON is a beautiful tale of forbidden love. Two tortured souls are brought together by chance and bound together by love. The story is beautifully written with such detail you’ll be transported to the picturesque landscapes of Canada. A great read for those who lust for  heartwarming romance with hot sex and a little action in their books. I hope to read more about these two in the near future. Really, who doesn’t love forbidden love between a vampire and a werewolf?!

*Note: Although part of a series, Hunter’s Moon can be read as a stand-alone book.
