Payne and Manny are perfect together, their relationship is another great story in this captivating series…but I must say this book made me fall in love with with V all over again! The main story lines are so enthralling I found myself reading on even when my eyes begged me to sleep!
Payne’s character and personality was definitely not what I expected. When I was first introduced to her I loved her bad-ass attitude and her strength, I thought she’d be really stubborn and have a wall up when it came to love but she proved me wrong, Payne is refreshingly honest and innocent while still the perfect warrior, a great combination. Her sense of humor just proves she’s Vishous’ twin, I’ve never envisioned a female version of Vishous but Payne wholeheartedly lived up to my expectations! I couldn’t envision a more perfect mate for her than Manny. He’s smart, protective and his adoration for her blew me away. I had a sense of deja vu at times with Manny and was ecstatic when my suspicions of him were confirmed. What made their story all the more for me is their acceptance of each other and their determination to fight for their relationship despite the odds against them from the beginning; there was no doubting of feelings and a purity to their love that was just beautiful.

Vishous’ transformation in this book is something that I have long awaited. His relationship with his shellan is compromised, with the help of his best friend Butch he is able to re-examine himself, finally put an end to the darker chapters in his life and find a new beginning with his life mate Jane. In Jane, Butch and his new found sister Payne, he sees a reason worth changing for. Seeing a softer side of him, especially the PDA with Jane will take some time to get used to but I was loving every minute of it!

Lover Unleashed is another beautiful love story with a bittersweet ending. It’s compelling, emotional and sexy, the Warden at her best! We meet some new characters and are reacquainted with those we love and miss in small glimpses throughout the story. I quickly remember the reason behind my addiction to the Black Dagger Brotherhood whenever I begin a new book in this series. Payne and Manny will undoubtedly become another fave couple among the Brotherhood!
