Finley Jayne knows she's not 'normal'. Normal girls don't lose time, or have something inside them that makes them capable of remarkably violent things. Her behavior has already cost her one job, so when she's offered the lofty position of companion to Phoebe, a debutante recently engaged to Lord Vincent, she accepts, despite having no experience. Lord Vincent is a man of science with his automatons and inventions, but Finley is suspicious of his motives where Phoebe is concerned. She will do anything to protect her new friend, but what she discovers is even more monstrous than anything she could have imagined…
An ebook exclusive prequel to The Steampunk Chronicles.

A glimpse into the fascinating and dangerous world of Finley Jayne!
In THE STRANGE CASE OF FINLEY JAYNE, we are introduced to the heroine of the highly anticipated The Girl in the Steel Corset. We follow her into her new position as a companion to Phoebe, a young debutante who has recently become engaged to a much older and wealthy inventor, Lord Vincent. As time passes, Finley begins to bond with Phoebe, forming a close friendship and questioning the eccentric Lord Vincent’s intentions with his future bride. Finley isn’t your average “companion,” she has a dark side within her and will use those abilities to uncover the mystery behind the Dr. Frankenstein-esque behavior of Lord Vincent.
Finley is a great heroine, she’s strong and smart beyond her years. She has no problem in doing what’s right and accepts the consequences this can bring to her reputation in such a proper society. There are many layers to her character that I’m sure will be explored in the next installment but the author does an excellent job in introducing her personality and her steampunk world in this prequel. The addition of an evil villain and air of mystery makes the story all the more intriguing. The Strange Case of Finley Jayne is an enchanting start with endearing characters, mystery and action that will peek your curiosity and anxiously await this feisty heroine’s next adventure!
I downloaded this on my Nook for free, but I haven’t read it yet!
Haven’t really ventured into the Steampunk genre yet, but this might be the book to do it. Thanks for the review.
