I’m really excited to have author Gabrielle Bisset here today on my stop of the Vampire Dreams Blog Tour!
Gabrielle is a romance writer who’s “romantic world is filled with strong, sexy heroes, determined heroines, and steamy love. As a writer of erotic romance novels and novellas, she feels blessed to spend her time with wonderful characters who seduce, charm, and love to the fullest.” (www.gabriellebisset.com)
Keep reading to find out more about this romantic author and the sexy vampire world she’s created!
- I hand write everything, no matter if it’s a short story or 350 page novel.
- My hair is naturally curly, but I usually straighten it, unless it’s summertime.
- I have a master’s degree in history, and love anything about European history. (That’s probably not very interesting, is it?)
- I gave birth to my first child while living in Europe.
- I live in a place where the average age is 65. (Yes, you may feel bad for me. It’s slim pickins here for a single woman.)
I write sitting on my bed. Since I hand write everything first before typing, I can be found with a pen and notebook whenever I’m writing.
I think Victorian England is very interesting, particularly because it was a very sexual time. True, most of the sex was underground, but it was a pretty randy time. And it’s a very dynamic time too. The British Empire was at the height of its power, and that feeling of power resonated throughout Britain.
My vampires in Vampire Dreams are dark and brooding. I just love me a brooding man! They’re always so full of mystery.
For me, any kind of physical fight scene is the most challenging. I’ve never actually fought anyone, so it’s totally foreign to me. However, I have a great friend who is also one of my beta readers and he always checks my fight scenes for veracity. It’s really funny to see him look up from the page and say, “And exactly how do you think this character could do that?”
I use the trick I was taught when I was learning how to do academic writing. Just keep writing and mulling over ideas. Things will eventually begin to flow again.
I’d like them to remember the romance and the sensuality that the characters convey.
My first thought is to say I’d travel to the day before David Beckham met that wife of his and work my mojo, but if I am to be serious, I would say I’d love to go back to Ancient Rome–the time of the Roman Empire. But Victorian England would be interesting too.
There are two books currently on my nightstand. Blood Sin, by Marie Treanor, and The Artist, The Philosopher, and The Warrior: Da Vinci, Machiavelli, and Borgia and The World They Shaped, by Paul Strathern.
My first novel, Stolen Destiny, is set to be released by Siren Publishing on June 29. It’s the first in a paranormal romance series entitled The Destined Ones, and involves a race of people called Aeveren who live many lives through reincarnation. I also have a second novella set in Victorian England coming out in July entitled Love’s Master. It’s not paranormal like Vampire Dreams, but is more about light BDSM. The third novella in the trilogy set in that time period, Masquerade, is a straight up historical, and that will be released in late August. And finally, the second novel in The Destined Ones series, Destiny Redeemed, will be released in late September.
Just for fun:
Vampires.
Oh, night owl. Not a big fan of the morning.
I would want my friends and family. With them, we could make it through. Since I’m the professor, I’m going to have to be in charge of the coconut bicycle, but the others can do what they do best. (Gilligan’s Island joke. Lame. I know. )
Until recently, it was watching The Borgias on Showtime. Now I’m just waiting for True Blood to return.
I love Walt Disney World. In fact, I’m going there with my son, my best friend, and her daughter in August.
Thanks for joining us today Gabrielle!
