Becoming a vampire guardian was Dawn Fairchild’s ticket out of the Scarlet House. Fresh off a successful mission, life in Angel Creek should have been great. But when her sort-of-maybe-boyfriend, Sebastian, disappears on a quest to help a beautiful vampire from his past, Dawn finds herself amidst a web of danger, lies, and deceit.
Joining forces with Razor, an enigmatic rebel lacking both a verbal and a physical filter, and her band of Misfits—Brooke, Sophie, Hunter, and Seth—Dawn is thrust into a race against the clock to solve the mystery surrounding brutal Born kidnappings and come to terms with the sudden discovery of her own unique powers. With time ticking away and Born vampires’ lives in jeopardy, it quickly becomes evident that someone—or something—desperately wants Dawn and is willing to shed any amount of blood to get her.
Dawn has only one chance to face her demons and overcome all obstacles standing in her way as she embarks on the biggest mission of her life—one that threatens a deadly outcome for all involved.

A worthy sequel to an addictive series where the stakes are higher than ever!
Continuing her role as one of the vampire guardians of Angel Creek, Dawn Fairchild finally feels she has a purpose since the betrayal of her uncle and loss of her father. She spends her days training her band of misfit guardians and her spare time sparring with the irresistible Sebastian York. Things are looking up, but when it comes to Angel Creek you can never count on normal being a way of life for too long. With Sebastian off to aid a friend in trouble, Dawn has some new blood in town to keep her company, Sebastian’s long lost older brother Christopher aka Razor. It’s now up to Dawn and her team to lead the mission to track down the fiend kidnapping innocent Born vampires before time runs out…which could ultimately be her last mission.
REAWAKENED delves right into the action and introduces some new and memorable characters. The introduction of Sebastian’s brother Razor, the sultry Lena and Charlotte brings an extra dose of intrigue and humor to the already snarky cast of characters. While there are a number of characters and story lines involved, Ada Adams flawlessly ties everything together with no confusion.
“Halloween Haunt, bitches!” she yelled over the loud buzz of the blade as she disarmed – literally disarmed – two of our attackers.
Dawn shows some exceptional growth in this book while dealing with her father’s death and feelings for Sebastian. Surrounded by all this chaos she’s still the strong and kick butt heroine we remember, but shows some vulnerability which is something she has struggled with in the past. Dawn puts all her focus on the task at hand, saving the innocent at all costs and her willingness to sacrifice herself for those she loves remains my favorite personality trait when it comes to this heroine.
“For the first time in my life, I had met someone who made me feel like there was more to like than just training and fighting. Someone who drove me completely insane, while also possessing the power to soothe my deepest pains and darkest fears.”
I wouldn’t be doing the book justice if I didn’t take a moment to mention the fabulous and sexy new addition to this book, Razor. I was instantly in love with his sarcastic and flirty ways. He’s the opposite of the brooding Sebastian (who I also love) and has a way to empower Dawn that is fun to watch, I really enjoyed the bond they form, even the flirty banter. I’m not a fan of a love triangle when it comes to Dawn and Sebastian’s relationship and am thankful that Razor, while the charmer, respects his brother’s developing relationship with Dawn and does not come between them…makes him that more worthy in my eyes!
“Well, it’s more like a sentence on life,” he said, grinning. “I live by three rules: Don’t dwell on the past, present, or future, party hard, and never fall in love. Easy.”
Ada Adams’ fluid writing style and character development really shines in this sequel. Her characters are multi-faceted and her vampire world is innovative. REAWAKENED flawlessly blends mystery, intrigue and romance in a quick-paced, emotional story that keeps you on edge, including a jaw dropping cliffhanger. If you’re looking for an awesome new vampire read that’s filled with danger and larger than life characters…look no further!
