An intriguing story with romance, mystery, demons and hunters!

Ava Keller is a young woman trying to live a normal life with an extraordinary gift. She can see someone’s future (good or bad) just by a simple touch so she tries to stay away from people and prefers to work with animals. While visiting her only friend Miriam at work Ava accidentally touches a man and sees his untimely death in a vision, which sparks the interest of demon hunter Karson. He believes Ava is a fellow Venator (demon hunter) who’s out to disrupt his latest assignment. This chance encounter brings Ava into Karson’s paranormal world and into a thrilling romance they never expected.

Temptation by Fire is a fast paced paranormal story with a little suspense, engaging characters and a sweet romance. It’s not as dark as some of Tiffany Allee’s other books but it has plenty of twists and engaging characters that keep you turning the pages. Ava and Karson have great chemistry and keep things interesting from the start.

Ava is a young and sometimes naive heroine (not my favorite type) but she’s extremely curious and doesn’t take no for an answer which I love. Her physic ability is definitely not one to envy, I really felt for her and the rejection she experienced in her life because of it. Ava has trust issues, so it’s not surprising that she keeps her distance from Karson and doesn’t completely trust him in the beginning, but all that changes once she gets to know him and that he’s immune to her ability. Karson is a swoon-worthy hero with his soft side and dark past, but I love that even though he’s an alpha male he doesn’t take that stance with Ava. He’s out for vengeance and doesn’t want her involved in his world but has to keep her by his side in order to protect her. Karson has a great personality and the banter between him and Ava is fantastic, they definitely kept each other on their toes.

I’ve said it a million times, I’m not the biggest fan of insta-love but it seems to work in this story. Both characters long for acceptance and find that in each other, which makes for a sweet and steamy romance. Even though the romance develops quickly, Ava and Karson do spend time confiding in each other and getting to know one another…it’s not unbelievable. Ava’s character really grows towards the end of the book and she begins to see her powers as a gift and not a curse.

There are some really interesting paranormal aspects in this book but it mainly focuses on the main couple. Tiffany gives us a little danger along with the flawed characters I love to read about. I would have liked to know a little more about the Venators, but feel there was enough backstory to where I wasn’t confused. There are no cliffhangers or unresolved issues here, Tiffany wraps all loose ends and gives us the promise of a HEA for our couple. All in all, I found Temptation by Fire a fun and sexy romance with just enough paranormal to satisfy my voracious appetite for PNR!
